Dear Richard:

Last night at 2200 hrs. I had a dream of my teacher, Prof. Vipata B. Wangsai (DWF's right) since I went to bed early as usual at 0900 hrs. Prof. V.B. Wangsai passed away on October 30, 1984 at the age of 68. He was the good friend of DWF.

I would like to make this short note to this page for our memory.

Dear Sanguan:

Thank you very much for sharing your dreams with us. It's always good
to hear about this.

I must tell you about a coincidence. Your dream occurred just when I
was out a Thai restaurant (last night, US E.S.T. time). Not long ago
I found this excellent resturant not far from my house, which I now
visit once every 2 months or so, since I particularly like your food
and flavors.

Last night I ordered a "Saute Sa-tor Bean in spicy sauce & shrimp".
The waiter first told me that what I had ordered was really only for a
thai person and hence to reconsider my decision! but then he let me
order it anyway! pretty funny. I liked the plate. I must say the
flavor of the Sa-tor bean is very particular, like something I have
never tasted before.

It is always good to hear from you. If you or your family ever come
to New York, please let me know; I would truly welcome the opportunity
to meet. I also hope one day to visit your beautiful national parks
in northern Thailand.

Best regards,

Richard

Dear Diane:
This morning around 4 am. I dreamed of DWFishler. In my dream, DWFishler and I were considering the research papers and documentary sheets we would give to the members in the highlands meeting. There were fourteen sheets however we had to make photostats for those unknown numbers.

I wake up and not really clear what I said to the people in my dream. DWFishler did not say he only gave me the sheets.

I visited Thungluang site south west of the Inthanon peak last week. It was the Royal Projectt site which USDA funded the agricultural extension project to Maejo Institute of Agricultural Technology in 1979. It was the 5 years fixed-price contract from September 1979-86 in the amount of $281.240. I spent one day trip to memorize the Project Leader, Dr. Boonrawd Supa-Udomlerk who passed away on August 22. 1999. He was the good friend of DWFishler. It was the 8th years of Dr.Boonrawd's memorial.

I still think of the old days I was with DWFishler.

If there is a way DWFishler can acknowledge, I appreciate DWFishler contribution in supporting the highland development in this country.

Regards,

Sanguan Chantalay

Dear Diane:

At4 AM this morning, I had a long dream of DWF and Jones. It was deep sleeping dream.

We (DWF, Jones and I) were on the trip some where with other passengers on the street car. We had lunch in the restaurant and return hotel by the street car.
At the last scene, DWF and Dr. Jones walked to me and check hands. "sanguan, we have to leave here"

I wake up and this is a dream. I believe either you or Richard may have dreams like this.
I feel happy to dream of him because in July month thirty years ago we went up to Inthanon mountain with my family. Ann and Oak, my wife. My son, Little Oak which DWF holds him is 29 years old now.

He came to my dream to recall the old days we had. I think of DWF often anytime when I met someone who worked with the King's Project.

I am updating the files on internet. You will read my note at: www.pangfan.org/fishler.html

Hi Sanguan -

I have sad news for you. My husband, Don Fishler, passed away on October 13. If it can be of any consolation he suffered no physical pain. He was in coma & passed peacefully away.

Please advise all his good friends in Thailand. He remembered all of you very dearly. He had had very serious health problems for quite a while. One of his favorite passtimes was to look at his pictures taken in Thailand.

My son, Richard, is in Portland, Oregon right now. He sends you his best regards. Hope we keep in touch. Take care & God bless.

Thank you for being Don's very good friend.

Diane Fishler.

Dear Mr. Sanguan Chantalay,
Thank you, so very much, for your beautiful e-mail. Your kind wishes are very appreciated by us all.
It is difficult to believe that it has been two years ago, tomorrow, October 13th, that we lost our dear Father. We miss him so much. I do believe that he is in Heaven with our Mother and that they have found happiness.
Our country is suffering now and we find it hard to believe that human beings could be filled with so much hatred for their fellow man. It is all so very sad. I am glad my dear Dad does not have to see it.
Once again, I thank you for your very kind remembrance of my Father.
We still hope that one day you will come here for a visit. We are now living in Florida and very happy in our new home.
Please give my love to your family. My Father spoke of you all often with wonderful, happy memories of you all.
Very Sincerely,
Pat (Fishler) Girvin

The 6th anniversary of DW Fishler's passed away comes to my mind when the October 13 is coming.

Ten years ago my wife (Chongdee) the mother of the two kids's (Ann, Oak) passed away on October 20, 1992. This will be the 10th anniversary of Chongdee's passed away.

Eighteen years ago, Prof. Vipata B. Wangsai (front with DWFishler)passed away on October 30, 1984. He was a good friend of DWFishler and long serviced with the Royal Project. He was the first President of Maejo University.

I recalled the old days from my mind, it seems to me not too long ago, we(Sanguan, Chongdee, Ann, Oak, grandma, and DWFishler) went up to the peak of Doi Inthanon range in 1977 while my son "Oak" was only one year old.
Oak is now 26 years old and teaching at Maejo University !

I still think of the days we were together with mutual understanding of honor and good relationship to the Royal Project while DWFishler was serving USDA/ARS
in Chiang Mai.

You are in my mind for ever.
